ILSI India has been sponsoring a series of Conferences on Micronutrient Fortification of Foods in India, along with Department of Food Processing Industries, Government of India. The Northern Regional Conference held in Luckow examined issues such as providing wheat flour fortified with iron through public distribution systems, the use of vitamin E in fortification to increase the stability of Vitamin A, double fortification of salt with iron and iodine, and investigation and encouragement of the technical feasibility of fortification of spices.
