An international conference, “Water Quality Management: South Asian Perspective,” was sponsored by the International Life Sciences Institute – India (ILSI-India), the ILSI Risk Science Institute, the Department of Drinking Water Supply, the Ministry of Rural Development, the Government of India (GOI), and the Government of Rajasthan and supported by the Ministry of Water Resources (GOI), the Ministry of Urban Development (GOI), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and the United States–Asia Environmental Partnership (US-AEP), was held in Jaipur on 11–12 April 2002.
